Manly to Spit Coastal Walk – July School Holidays Looking for something fun and active to do during the next school holidays? MYST is teaming up with The Girls & Boys Brigade to take young adventurers on a stunning 10km coastal walk from Manly to Spit Bridge! When: Wednesday, 9th July 2025 Pick-up: 9am from MYST Springwood Where: Manly to Spit Bridge Coastal Track Distance: 10km (Easy walk but bring your energy – it’s a long one!) Snacks will be provided. Congratulations to Isis Khalil – Winner of the 2 Congratulations to Isis Khalil – Winner of the 2025 Jan Pentland Prize! We are incredibly proud to share that Isis Khalil, MYST’s Financial Counsellor and Manager of our Youth Work and Counselling Team, has been awarded the 2025 Jan Pentland Prize – the most prestigious honour in the financial counselling sector. This national award, managed by Financial Counselling Australia, recognises exceptional achievement in financial counselling, consumer advocacy, and social justice reform – and Isis’s dedication is nothing short of extraordinary. From fighting tirelessly for clients facing unthinkable hardship, to initiating systemic reform and standing up to some of the country’s largest institutions, Isis never backs down from a challenge. Her work at previous roles and MYST has led to: Instrumental action leading to a class action against Sportsbet A $230,000 inheritance protected for a young client after a wrongful bank sale of their home. Countless young people and families in the Blue Mountains regaining financial control and hope for the future Even after losing agency funding at a previous position, Isis volunteered to continue supporting complex clients – exemplifying her unstoppable drive and compassion. Isis embodies the spirit of Jan Pentland through her fierce advocacy, legal savvy, and unshakeable belief in justice for the most vulnerable.
