Caolan Durkin

Caolan brings over 10 years of experience working with young people and families across Western Sydney, Nepean and the Blue Mountains region, in roles spanning case management, leadership and Therapeutic Specialist positions, with vast experience in Child Protection, Early Intervention and Out of Home Care spaces.

A Blue Mountains local and dedicated father of three, Caolan is deeply connected to the communities he serves.

Holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma, Bachelor of Social Science, Diploma of Community Services and a Certificate IV in Youth Work,  Caolan brings a strong, evidence‑informed foundation to his work. He has a deep understanding of the impact’s developmental trauma and the ways it shapes a young person’s development, relationships, mental health and sense of belonging. This knowledge underpins his commitment to creating safe, empowering and culturally respectful environments for healing and growth.

Caolan is passionate about working alongside First Nations communities, supporting LGBTQIA+ young people, and advocating fiercely for those impacted by the criminal justice system. His practice is grounded in social justice, relational connection and a belief in the strengths and potential of every young person.

Outside of work, Caolan is often found fishing, playing soccer, listening to punk rock, bushwalking, or spending time with his kids. These passions keep him grounded, connected and energised, qualities he brings into his work every day.
