Outdoor Explore participants are exposed to a solid range of adventure based activities and group therapeutic work and processes. Stage 2 day programs give those participants who have positively gained from the experience an opportunity to continue the processes. At the completion of Stage 2 the participants will be at a high level of competency in adventure based activities and also be highly skilled in self management and working within a group.

The Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park wilderness is key to Outdoor Explore outcomes as it allows participants a rare opportunity for connection to something greater (nature), personal reflection, decision making, and developing many skills that will assist them to make positive decisions in their daily lives.

The Blue Mountains National Park

Borders Western Sydney and as such is these young peoples’ back yard. By mentoring these young people in this environment it opens a lifetime of positive things to do – all easily accessible at little or no cost.

Journeying by purely human powered means there is an opportunity to develop a deep and meaningful connection with nature and as this program is designed as a progression it will be well suited to the participants as they will have learned the fundamental skills in OE Stage 1.
The criteria for participation will be two fold. Firstly an 80% participation in OE Stage 1 with positive involvement.
Secondly it will be by self-selection, thus the participant has chosen to take on this significant but highly rewarding challenge.
