Bush Adventure Therapy
Outdoor Explore (OE) is not like other programs. It is a therapeutic, adventure-based program designed to give young people an opportunity to participate in a range of outdoor activities facilitated by highly experienced, qualified guides, such as canoeing, rock-climbing, abseiling, bike-riding, bushwalking & much more.
The program provides an arena for young people to learn new skills, to confront challenges and fears in a supportive environment & to grow in confidence & self-efficacy. Furthermore, OE fosters positive peer relationships through shared experience & success where the outcome for the participant is a strong sense of belonging & team-spirit.
In addition, each week young people are introduced to a range of personal development and wellbeing discussion topics delivered in a unique and engaging manner.
"We know that not all young people are engaged in school, and we also know that not all young people will choose to attend a youth centre. For this reason our staff undertakes a range of assertive outreach activities with a view to engaging the most vulnerable and hard to reach young people."
