Lane Cove National Park
Term 4
Full 10 Week Program

This ten week program is designed to “move kids out of their comfortable zone”, building social CONNECTIONS and foster independence.

Activities in and around Lane Cove National Park include (but are not limited to):
- Bushwalk
- Mountain Biking
- Canoeing
- Raft Building
- Low Ropes course
- Bouldering

By participating in a combination of support activities kids will be exposed a range of exciting new environments and experiences.

Young people who complete this program are observed to have:
– Improved confidence to try new things.
– An improved capacity to adapt successfully to new situations or circumstances.
– Improved social skills and connections (making friends).

All Outdoor Explore participants receive a generous picnic lunch each day, provided by our staff and prepared by participants. Young people on our programs have the opportunity to 'create' their own gourmet sandwiches. Experience has taught us that making and eating lunch together is a valuable personal development opportunity for many of our participants.

Note: During our 'get to know you' interview we will take note of any dietary requirements to ensure no one goes hungry.

Equipment provided:
We will provide your child with all the necessary equipment for each days activity. We also cover their National Parks and Wildlife Service park entry fee. While we encourage all participants to bring their own weather-appropriate clothing (see below), we have spare warm clothing and rain jackets if needed.

Things to bring:
As a general rule we recommend:

  • Comfortable clothes suited to the weather
  • Enclosed shoes
  • Water bottle – at least 1.5 litres.
  • Personal medication (Ventolin/EpiPen etc.)

Participant Requirements:
We believe that all our adventures are heaps of fun, they are also intentionally challenging, which is why we take to time to understand the individual skills and abilities of all our participants.

Our activities and programs are tailored to suit all young people aged between 12-17.
Participants are placed into groups with other young people of similar age and abilities.
If you have any questions or concerns, we’d be delighted to talk with you.

$3750 per person incl GST. for ten full days.

NDIS: We are registered NDIS provider and the full cost of all Outdoor Explore programs can be covered by the NDIS. Please contact us so we can assist you.

"We know that not all young people are engaged in school, and we also know that not all young people will choose to attend a youth centre. For this reason our staff undertakes a range of assertive outreach activities with a view to engaging the most vulnerable and hard to reach young people."
