MYST is first and foremost an independent for-purpose organisation. We are registered as an Incorporated Association with the NSW Registers of Co-operatives and Associations.
Incorporated as Mountains Youth Services Team in June of 2005, MYST was formed via the amalgamation of several smaller associations, principle among these was Blue Mountains Development youth Recreation Service which was first incorporated in April 1992.

MYST is a public benevolent institution endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
