The Outdoor Explore program has been developed and run in the Blue Mountains, in different incarnations, for the last 12 years. The program utilises outdoor activities to generate challenging experiences in the wild using experiential education techniques.
Outdoor education can be effective at improving or changing a wide number of attributes in the participants. These attributes commonly include self esteem, self confidence, team work, leadership, conflict resolution, communication skills, emotional resilience and social competence.
Outdoor Explore is built on the theories and principles of wilderness therapy.
